Software/Hardware Skills

In today’s technology-centric world, it’s vital for students and employees of the organisation to have basic computing skills that allow them to perform well in the studies and workplace and keep up with the fast-paced environment of modern world. In order to obtain these basic computing skills, the software that I used in the past majorly includes Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint for preparing presentations during my studies.

For this purpose, I enrolled myself in computing course in past named as “Introduction to Office 365” in order to learn some basics like how to use everyday word-processing functions such as spellcheckers, header and footer editing, inserting graphics and objects, create edit and use of spreadsheets, data entry skills, writing emails and other etc. However, I didn’t use any special hardware to learn all these skills except a laptop with normal specifications and a medium speed internet.

After my admission in De Monte University to pursue bachelor's degree in Computing, I came to know there is special hardware or software required to attend classes. Just one normal and workable condition notebook or laptop is required with medium quality internet to attend the online classes. For software, Microsoft teams is essentially important to take online sessions including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well to prepare assignments.

To put it in a nutshell, all these hardware and software skills are highly essential for students in future as almost every business has now a need for IT-focused employees. Computer and information technology jobs are among the fastest-growing occupations in the world. Jobs in information technology can be interesting, rewarding, and lucrative, so if we possess some of the skills mentioned in the list below, a career in IT could be right for us.
